Initiatives such as these are essential in inspiring the next generation of engineering talent
Every April, Germany celebrates national Career Information Day, a day for girls to explore their future careers. This initiative is crucial in addressing the gender gap in these professions and inspiring young girls and women to consider careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths).
Our technical centre in Lohmar recently welcomed ten girls between the ages of 12 and 16 to participate in a series of activities designed to showcase the range of career opportunities that exist within the STEM field.
Throughout the day, the team in Lohmar offered hands-on experiences in technical disciplines - ranging from design to prototyping, metrology and vehicle integration - as well as a selection of presentations and site tours to provide the attendees with an in-depth insight into the variety of roles available to pursue in the future.
Our goal is to continue to inspire each other to reach our full potential while developing the talent of the next generation and we look forward to supporting more initiatives like this in the future.
